Seems to me like a vicious cycle. Many Gen Xers like us today are in fact also parents of Millennials. Their behaviours, mentalities, attitudes.....etc are probably the by-products of how their Gen Xers parents raised them up.

Gen Xers are also partially responsible for the technologies and IT gadgets which the Millennials are so hooked on. We are the generation who developed and revolutionized the world today with those technologies in the 90s and early 2000s.

Yes the Millennials are indeed no difference from us, Gen Xers in that like us in our 20s, they too have career aspirations and expectations although in a different time era.

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for your comments.

Yes Emotional Intelligence is a pretty wide topic.
But whatever the case maybe, emotional intelligence is one of the key competencies of the future workforce.

It depends on the nature of Emotional Intelligence and what your definition of it is. There are, to date, 3 kinds of definitions. One model suggests that all the skills required in 2020 must be contingent upon the presence of Emotional Intelligence. There are seven key facets according to the Emotional Judgement Inventory (EJI), which encompasses knowing about emotions, noticing them, managing them and using them with self and other on each subdomain. Critical for leadership development as well as transitions!

Just came across this article recently. Looking at your stats, it seemed majority of the candidates lie on their resume and interview.
So what happen to the remaining candidates who did't lie on their resume? Are they losing out?

Hi Eric,

Thank you for your comments.
You are spot on when you say that most recruiters tend to overlook cultural fit. And the reason is that most don't know how to assess and organisation's prevailing culture.

Cheers,
Steven
